Accompany personal growth and being: Dance/movement therapy individually or in groups

The question is not so much whether something can, but how it can.

I would happily accompany you on your search for sparkle, joy, strength, and balance. I do this in personalized one-on-one sessions and group series through words, sound, breath, and dance. As a language and literature scholar, I cannot simply set aside my love for language. At the same time, I am becoming increasingly fascinated by how dancing provides deep access to themes such as freedom, ownership, vulnerability, seeing and being seen. We need both for insight, integration, and change in what you see, think, feel, and do. The sessions take place in one of the ground-floor rooms or the large hall and the broader (private) natural domain of WildeRust.

1-on-1 coaching

We will jointly explore your question and the needs and desires that lie beneath it. Initially, I do this through conversation and invitation to feel what your body 'tells' you (muscle tension, breathing rate, attention, ...), and gradually we move towards a combination of dance, reflection through writing/drawing/speaking, sound, breath, and back to conversation.

I observe. I listen. I ask questions. I mirror. I magnify. I give back. I invite. As a dance and movement psychotherapist, I explore how we access what lives deep within us, what is hidden, what wants to come out - with presence, gentleness, and genuine curiosity.

The first conversation is mainly an introduction, during which I get an idea of your question and we can both sense if there is a 'click'.

Contact me via info@wilderust.be with the subject "practice" or call me on 0495690856. Individual sessions are currently only possible on Wednesdays at 10am/11:30am/1:30pm/3pm/4:30pm and on Thursdays at 5:30pm. Price: A session lasts 1 hour and costs 75 euros. Would you like to combine 1-on-1 guidance with an overnight stay? That is also possible tailored to your needs, ranging from guided dance meditation to coaching/therapy sessions in nature - email me if you feel this specific desire!

Group series

Group series are in full swing. Follow us on facebook or instagram for announcements, or email us with your interest and we will add you to the mailing list.

Curious? Watch here the documentary about the co-creative project that I facilitated in collaboration with theater director Kris Nelis at laGeste in Ghent in 2025.

Pensions

Multi-day group workshops are in full swing. Through dance, nature experiences, sharing circles, writing, moments of silence, etc., we dive into a specific theme. By 'we', I mean myself, the participants, and a co-facilitator who is at home with body work/creative expression/... Groups are limited to a maximum of 12 people and overnight stay is recommended to really fully immerse yourself.

Follow us on facebook or instagram, or email us with your interest and we will add you to the mailing list. If you also share what you are looking for and why, you might inspire us for a new theme!

Our place also gladly welcomes external retreat facilitators. Contact us via info@wilderust.be!

My background

The body—how we experience it, look at it or don't see it, talk about it or remain silent, give it meaning, touch it and not touch it, move it and not (dare or be able to) move it—has been at the center of my interdisciplinary work for 15 years, before we founded WildeRust. The themes I explored/explore there concern experiences of limitation and potential, loss and mourning, pain, body image, safety in one's own body, discovering one's own voice and daring to let it be heard, daring to take up space,... I bring this solid foundation into my therapeutic work.

I work based on my training

  • in dance and movement psychotherapy (Agape Belgium)
  • in language and literature (University of Antwerp)
  • in social psychology (University of Surrey)
  • continuing education on breathing techniques, the nervous system, creative writing, etc.

And my work as

  • as a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher (in disability studies, performance, and sexuality at the University of Ghent and KU Leuven, 2014-2025) through questioning and describing life stories, auto/ethnography, therapeutic-artistic dance projects via movement, voice, drawing, and creative writing
  • as a coach (Creative Consciousness Coaching)
  • as a dance therapist at Heilig Hart Ieper (starting mid-September 2026)

How do I choose to be as a person and as a therapist?

Just like everyone else, I've already collected a lot in my "backpack," which I wear around my waist, on my legs, between my teeth, over my shoulders, and sometimes with the help of someone else. What do I take with me from yesterday to today and tomorrow:

  • His, in the here and now
  • Vulnerability, fragile and powerful
  • Detecting and shedding limiting beliefs
  • Ownership over my body and life
  • Focus on opportunities
  • Dare to dream, beyond obstacles
  • Enjoying, with all my feelers
  • ... Meeting, getting away from what "must"

My path has taught me to slow down, shake off fear, bend limitations, and create from desire and curiosity about what is possible. My spark catches fire when I see/hear/feel people 'coming home' to themselves and moving more freely through life.
